Itinerary: |
This on-hill backcountry ski improvement course is aimed at improving overall ski ability and developing skills specific for backcountry skiing.
The course is led by CSIA Level 4 instructor and long-time backcountry skier and climber Piotr Smolik of Peak2Peak Ski Adventures.
The morning session will focus on overall individual ski improvement. Over the lunch hour participants will review video of themselves skiing and receive feedback. The afternoon will focus on skills specific for the backcountry such as skiing bumps, uneven terrain and pitches, skiing with a pack on, etc.
Participants should be intermediate skiers comfortable with linked parallel turns on blue runs.
The course fee including GST is $136.50. This course is being offered at a discount for ACC Calgary members. Registration will be confirmed once $ is received. Cheques need to be made out to `Peak2Peak Adventures`. You are responsible for your own lift pass for the day - it is not included in the course fee.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance: Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!
Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
