Itinerary:

Meet at 7:00 AM at the casino and carpool to the trailhead (approximately 1 hour drive).


Ideal for those with basic multipitch experience and want to experience a classic trad climb.


Estimate 10 hours car-to-car. Climb is approximately 10 pitches of 5.6/5.7 trad climbing. Paul is happy to lead all pitches or share leads if participants have trad leading experience.


Drive back to the casino. Expect a 12 hour (or slightly longer) day.



Required Items to Bring:

Hemet (mandatory), harness, rock shoes, personal anchor, sling and screwgates. Food and drink of the full day. Waterproof jacket. Small backpack to carry gear all of your gear, including approach shoes, on route.


Paul will bring ropes, rack and quick-draws.


Recommended Items to Bring:

Bear spray. InReach or similar if you have one.

Meet at the Stoney Nakoda Casino at 7:00 am. Carpool to the Interlakes trailhead at Kananaskis Lakes.


Paul will confirm carpool specifics and exact meeting location with participants on Thursday.

Cancellation Policy
If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.

Waiver Requirement

Members participating in this activity do not require a separate Waiver. Your membership Waiver in place at the time of the activity will apply to your participation in this activity. If your membership renews prior to the activity taking place, you will be required to agree to a new Waiver upon renewal, this new Waiver will apply to your participation in this activity.
