Itinerary:

Plan is to climb Mt Peter and Mt Delphine, both of which are 11,000' peaks in the Purcell Mountain Range west of Radium.  Rough plan as follows:

Friday - leave Calgary in the early afternoon and drive out (about 4h).  Hike up to the bivy site if we have time or simply camp at the car.

Saturday - Mount Delphine.  Reported as a fairly easy mountaineering objective with glacier travel near the top.

Sunday - Mount Peter then exit & drive home.  The Mt Peter west ridge is reported as being a classic 4th class / low 5th scramble on great rock.

Online beta on these peaks is fairly limited, but check out the following:

facebook.com

I have more beta from a friend who climbed the peaks recently, apparently they are in great shape!

Required Items to Bring:

Helmet, harness, crampons, mountaineering axe.  Glacier travel kit.

Sleeping kit, food.

We can work out group gear (tents, stoves, ropes, etc) depending on who is joining.

Recommended Items to Bring:

Sunglasses, sunscreen, water filter, appropriate clothing

How to Get There:
Carpool Departure Time:   01:00 PM
Carpool Location:   TBD

Notes:

If we've never met before, please send me an email to brendan714@gmail.com explaining your climbing, scrambling and mountaineering experience.  This trip is suitable for people who are both advanced scramblers and intermediate mountaineers.  We will be scrambling 4th class and low 5th class terrain (roping up for cruxes where necessary) for Mt Peter and we will be travelling on a glacier for Mt Delphine.
