Itinerary:
PLEASE NOTE THIS POST IS FOR THE HOSTEL ACCOMMODATION.  SIGN UP HERE TO HAVE A BED FOR THE FRIDAY + SATURDAY NIGHT.  INDIVIDUAL CLIMBING EVENTS WILL BE POSTED BY THE TRIP LEADERS.  THERE WILL BE CLIMBING TRIPS ON THE SATURDAY + SUNDAY, SOMETIMES LEADERS POST A TRIP FOR THE FRIDAY OF THE WEEKEND AS WELL.  YOU WILL NEED TO SIGN UP FOR THE EVENT YOU ARE INTERESTED IN.  EACH TRIP LEADER WILL ASSESS YOUR EXPERIENCE + APPROVE YOU FOR THEIR TRIP.   ONCE APPROVED ON A TRIP YOU WILL THEN BE APPROVED FOR THE WEEKEND AND WILL NEED TO PAY FOR THE HOSTEL, THE PRICE INCLUDES FOOD ON THE SATURDAY NIGHT + A CONTRIBUTION TO THE TRIP LEADERS' SUBSIDY.
YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE SIGNED UP FOR A SUNDAY TRIP AS QUITE OFTEN THESE ARE DECIDED ON THE SATURDAY NIGHT.

ICE REVIEW IS A SEASON STARTER AND A GOOD OPPORTUNITY TO MEET OTHER CLIMBERS AND LEADERS.  FOR THIS REASON IT IS ALWAYS PREFERABLE TO STAY AT THE HOSTEL AS THERE IS PLENTY OF TIME TO SOCIALISE WITH EVERYONE.
HOSTEL:

We've booked out the Shunda Creek Hostel in Nordegg.   This is a great hostel that has a wood burning stove in the communal area, a sauna and outside fire pit.  It's listed as having showers, but let's see if they are operational in January.

HOW TO SIGN UP:

  1. Participants sign up for the hostel weekend and for individual trips which will, hopefully, be posted by the mid November, the leaders will check out your experience and let you know  if you are accepted onto the trip.
  2. Once participants have been accepted onto an individual trip need, they will then be transferred to the participants' list for the weekend and need to pay using the Paypal button below.
  3. Everyone attending Ice Review will need to be signed up for at least 1 separate climbing event; as well as the overall Ice Review (this trip posting) to confirm their bed.

Note that Ice Review payments will be non-refundable, but if a person has to cancel and they are able to find a replacement suitable to the trip leader, they can sell/give over their spot.

COST:

The price for the hostel beds and food/drink on the Saturday night is $160, leaders are subsidised and the cost is $80.   Once all monies are in and food/drink costs calculated we will issue a refund if there is money left over.
