04:00 PM (Carpool Departure: 04:00 PM @ From Calgary/Canmore (Participants will need to provide guide transport to/from Canmore))
This is a three-day ski leadership course for existing section ski leaders. The course will be taught by Teresa Yau (Ski Guide, Assistant Alpine Guide), and focus on both technical and soft leadership skills. Participants will be contacted closer to the course date to discuss specific interests in terms of skills covered during the course.
The cost includes three course days as well as three nights (April 2, 3, 4) of accommodation in a cabin near Golden. The cabin includes 2 two single bed rooms & one pull out couch/futon for participants, full kitchen, two bathrooms and a hot tub. Participants are expected to stay at the cabin, as there will be morning and evening discussions as part of the course.
Participants are responsible for transport to and from Golden/Rogers Pass (including transport of the guide to/from Canmore), as well as food. Please note that winter permits & parking permits are now required for all skiing in the Rogers Pass area, so participants should take the test for the yearly pass and ensure they receive the pass prior to the course (or can pick it up the morning of the first day).
The cost of accommodation is being subsidized by the section, so priority will be given to ski trip leaders who have contributed the most to the section in recent years, including trip and BITS leading. AST2 is a pre-req.
