It looks as if the clear weather will continue in some parts of the Rockies for the long weekend, with cooler temps coming in. How about a trip into Mt. Alexandra before summer ends? Here's the plan: - Leave Calgary at 6 PM on Friday - Car camp at the first spot that works on the B road after Donald (like Bluewater Bridge Rec Site) - Up early on Saturday to drive up the Bush and Rice Brook FSR and hike into the Mt Alexandra bivy site taking the three cols direct line - Climb Mt. Alexandra on Sunday (current satellite image below) and possibly move camp closer to the vehicle if time and energy permit - Walk out to the vehicle on Monday and drive back to Calgary - If there is interest, there is an option to extend the length of the trip to climb other objectives in the area like Spring Rice, Whiterose Traverse (and leave Calgary on Saturday morning instead) You will need to have experience and relevant training in glacier travel, crevasse rescue, snow and ice climbing, low 5th class rock climbing (in boots) and 3rd/4th class scrambling. Please send me an email with an overview of your relevant experience, training, interest in the objective and the option to extend the trip. Also, what vehicle you would be able/willing to bring.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance: Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!
Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
