Itinerary:

The trip involves a mini-traverse from Rogers Pass to KHMR. Here's the current plan from Friday April 11 to Tuesday April 15:

- three to four days total (leaving Tuesday April 15 open in case of any delays or for an extra day of skiing)

- place a vehicle at KHMR on Friday night, stay in Golden

- drive to Rogers Pass on Saturday, ski into Glacier Circle and stay at the hut (booking needs to be made)

- Continue Sunday down to the Beaver River and up to the Baird Brook drainage (tent camping)

- travel via Canyon Creek to KHMR or stay an extra day to ski in the area (CMH Purcell tenure) and/or wait for conditions to exit

- Ski out via KHMR Monday or Tuesday, retrieve vehicle from Rogers Pass, return to Calgary

If you are interested, please get in touch with me as well as adding yourself to the list. I will try to put together a group that will be complimentary and work together well. This won't necessarily be the people with the most experience or people I've been out with a lot before. I have lots of winter camping / group gear so don't let that hold you back. There is glacier travel involved on day one, so crevasse rescue and glacier travel training / experience are essential. Ski/split downhill abilities need to be expert in variable conditions, fitness/endurance should be excellent. Let me know what your relevant experience is, why you'd want to join the trip and how you typically like to work within a group.

Required Items to Bring:

Camping gear to be worked out among the group. The usual gear requirements for spring ski touring; including ski crampons and an ice axe. Glacier travel kit and avalanche safety gear. Clothing layers for skiing and camping.

If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
