Itinerary: |
Three nights at Asulkan Hut. Departure will be early on March 13, with two full days of skiing at the hut, departing on March 16.
Participants must be intermediate or advanced backcountry skiers with AST2 and preferably crevasses rescue training. All participants must be approved by the coordinator, and as this is a section-booked trip, so priority will be given to Calgary section members.
All participants should be willing to participate in decision-making/risk assessment - the group will break into smaller groups as interest. Rogers Pass is complex avalanche terrain with significant avy terrain on the hut approach -- a group assessment as to avy/weather conditions will be made the week of the trip, with the trip coordinator/leader making the final decision based on the group discussions/risk assessment.
Group meals can be arranged as per participant interest; all drivers will need to secure an overnight parking pass in person/by email/by phone.

NOTE: Payment is required to be registered on the trip. Once payment is received, there are no refunds. Participants who withdraw are responsible for finding a suitable replacement & arranging to be paid by the replacement. All replacements MUST be approved by the coordinator(s) and priority will be given to persons on the wait list who meet the requirements. The
Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
