Itinerary:

Welcome to your second year for our multi-generational family event.  It was so successful last year we just had to offer this opportunity again next year.

Have you been wanting to introduce your grandkids and great nieces and nephews to the outdoor experience of Lake O'Hara and an Alpine Club Hut but wondered how to make such an event happen, well wait no longer, join in for this fun filled multi-generational family weekend at Elizabeth Parker Hut from September 12 to 15, 2025.  Enjoy three nights in the hut and four days of hikes in the area. The larches should be a spectacular site that can't be missed. You get a bus ride in for 12 kms and just have to manage a hike of just a kilometer to the hut.  The access to the hut is super convenient for kids of all ages.  

Preference will be given to those families with three generations attending. 

How to get on the trip:

1. Sign up below;

2. Email the trip leader at vipick@shaw.ca and indicate the individuals you want to sign up for the trip with their names, ages, and membership status (note: getting a family membership with ACC may be the best option with multiple family members); 

3. Describe the connections in the group and who you want to introduce in your group to this amazing experience; and,

4. Describe if you have ever been to Lake O'Hara or stayed in an Alpine Club Hut. 

Once you are accepted on the trip you will be advised the total amount to pay for your group via e-transfer to the ACC Treasurer.  The costs are as follows:

Adult $60.00 per night for three nights

Child (16 and under) $30.00 per night for three nights

Bus fees are to be determined.  

The bus times and schedule are as follows and will be confirmed by June 1, 2025:

8:30 a.m.

10:30 a.m.

3:30 p.m.

5:30 p.m.

Group meals for breakfast and supper will be coordinated.

Only ACC members are permitted on the trip. 



Required Items to Bring:

Sleeping Bag, backpack, Child carrier, hiking poles, rain gear, warm cloths, hiking boots, sunscreen, sunglasses, water bottles, sunhat, toque, mitts and lunches and snacks, power pack for your phone to take amazing pictures, toilet paper. No hard sided cooler due to Parks Canada rules.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:  

Lake O'Hara Parking Lot - 15 min drive past Lake Louise off Hwy #1, cross the railroad tracks and turn right.  This is the location to get on the bus. 

 

Notes:

Total fees including bus charges will be provided once you and your group are accepted on the trip and we receive confirmation from Parks Canada regarding the bus rates for 2025.  The email address to make payment will be sent along with your total fees.  





Cancellation Policy
If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
