PLEASE NOTE: You must actually SIGN UP to attend this event due to theater seating restrictions - don't just show up. Food/beverages are NOT permitted in the theatre, with the exceptions of bottle water. Thanks!
If you missed the first event, this is your chance to get in the action!
The Film Fest Night & Social event series aspires to bring a collection of inspiring and entertaining films in the style of the Banff Film Festival to warm your cold winter nights, as well as giving you a chance to get social and chat over a bevy afterwards.
Please bring a non-perishable food item to go to the food bank, if possible.
In this second installment in the series we check out King Lines, which follows Chris Sharma, one of the world's strongest climbers as he's just hitting his stride. It documents his global quest to find and climb the hardest, most spectacular routes.
Off the coast of Mallorca he discovers his most outrageous project yet , a foot arch rising from the Mediterranean Sea...
I'll also be bonusing a short, hilarious segment of how being tent-bound due to weather during a 40-day-long expedition can turn you into a certified lunatic.
Awards:
Winner, Best Climbing Film, Banff Mountain Film Festival
Winner, Grand Prize, Kendal Mountain Film Festival
Winner, Best Climbing Film, Taos Mountain Film Festival
This event is sponsored by your ACC Calgary Social Committee, Sender Films and the Reel Rock Tour - probably the best-value film fest I've been too... watch for it later this summer in Calgary!
Running time is around 90 minutes. After the film we'll head a short walk across the street to Original Joe's for a bevy, where we can meet some new faces and chat!
