Due to the high demand for the Wapta Ice fields trip with Chris Girard, and the good feedback on the ski mountaineering course last year, we have added this course to the calendar Want to get into ski mountaineering, but not confident on a glacier or handling ropes? This course should help you build the confidence to expand your objectives in the mountains. The two days are planned with instruction and a chance to practice your skills on an objective. - First day crevasse rescue training with a ski tour - Second day ski mountaineering where you apply the rope skills with raps into couloir on Cirque peak or something glaciated like Observation sub peak north glacier or Hector if in condition When you register for this course, please send Julie a summary of your relevant experience and training, to make sure you are a good fit. Once you are approved, you can scroll down to the bottom of the event page and pay using the 'Pay Now' paypal button. This course costs $333.10 per person, which includes Friday and Saturday night in HI Lake Louise, to allow earlier/longer days and debrief time in the evenings.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance: Please review our participant responsibility guidelines! Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
