The Bow-Yoho Traverse is the one of the classic Canadian Rockies hut-to-hut ski traverses. This trip will cover more than 48km over 5 days and 4 nights. We will be staying at the Bow, Richard & Louise Guy, and Stanley Mitchell huts. We will try and attempt some of the numerous mountaineering objectives along the way based on conditions and group dynamics.
Day 1: Car shuttle and approach to Bow hut. Depending on conditions and energy there may be time for a summit or a few turns behind the hut on the Glacier in the afternoon.
Day 2: Ski to Richard and Louise Guy hut. Again, depending on conditions, it may be possible to summit one of the many peaks along the way.
Day 3: We will ski to Stanley Mitchell hut. Hopefully, depending on conditions there may be time and energy left for a few turns after we arrive at the hut.
Day 4: Try to tag a peak or two from Stanley Mitchell hut.
Day 5: In the morning, we will ski out to the cars and should be done by lunchtime. Depending on conditions, we will either ski the road out to Monarch Campground or ski over the pass to Emerald Lake.
