After a summer hiatus we are getting back into the Sequoia Supply Backcountry Beta Evenings!

Come join us in our shop on Wednesday October 30, as we continue to build a backcountry community and produce networking opportunities, while aiming to provide valuable insight, provoke thought, and promote discussion.

Come anytime after 6:30pm to socialize and network - the presentations will start at 7:00pm and aim to wrap up the evening by 9pm.

This month's topic is:

Mammut Barryvox 2/2S beacon review followed by a beacon exercise/activity

PRESENTATION:

Mammut rep, Ally Kennedy (@allenecally), will be presenting an in-depth introduction to the new to market Mammut Barryvox 2/2S Beacon that hits the stores in October 2024. This new device has unique features that many of our customers will be interested in.

BEACON EXERCISE: Following the presentation, we will have a beacon exercise in the yard – please bring your beacon to this event as it will be an excellent opportunity to dust off your skills, install new batteries, and compare it to other styles of devices. The new Mammut Barryvox 2/2S will be available for testing. (This is not a beacon course and is not a substitute for professional training on avalanche beacon use)

Required Items to Bring:

NA

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

Cancellation Policy
If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.

Trip Feedback
If you have any feedback, positive or negative, concerning this trip or any other, we want to hear from you! You can send any feedback you may have to the Section Chair.
