Itinerary: |
We have the full hut (10 spaces) booked for three nights in March, hopefully to enjoy some good Rogers Pass powder.
Trip open to YYC section members only - AST2 required (or coordinator permission if equivalent experience) and crevasse rescue strongly recommended. Participants should be strong backcountry skiers with at least a few season's experience and capable of skiing a heavy pack up to the hut.
We will ski as groups of at least 3 - with 10 folks, we can split up depending on goals/experience/fitness. Lots to do depending on the weather and avy conditions.
If possible given limited cooking facilities, we will try to do group dinner(s) to keep weight down and enjoy some heavier treats (some great charcuterie spreads have been done in the past!). To be discussed closer to the date.

Notes: |
Trip is dependent on weather and avalanche conditions. A group decision will be made as to the cut off for going up to the hut in terms of avy/weather (we generally will NOT go if the avy rating is high). No refunds will be offered, but if we cannot safely make the hut, we can try for alternative plans if possible.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance: Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!
Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
