The plan is to climb Mother's Day Buttress on Cascade. I will be leading the whole route. The approach is approx 35mins and starts gradually up a drainage, as the terrain steepens the trail moves into 3rd class terrain with some scrambling. The climb consists of 8 pitches of 5.6 trad climbing with some fixed protection (there is an 5.7 variation possible). The descent follows a trail from the top of the climb but includes some short sections of 3rd class and a rappel/lower. Participants must be competent at belaying a leader, and comfortable moving over moderate scrambling terrain and comfortably climb up to 5.7 outdoors and be on the move for 4-7 hours. Please send a description of your experience level & abilities including relevant climbs you have been on in the past.
