We will deposit a vehicle at Mud Lake (Burstall parking), then drive
back to Sawmill, at which point we will ski W and N up Murray
Creek to the col in the French ridge (ca. 800m over 4.2 km). If
there's time, we might have a chance to climb Mt. Murray. Then
we ski W down an unnamed drainage to French Creek and continue
N back to Burstall parking.
Note: the upper section of this traverse is very steep and may
require step-kicking. Although snow conditions are quite stable at
this time, avalanche potential is considerable in this portion of the
ascent.
Required Items to Bring:
Warm clothes, lunch, sunscreen (!); skins, transceiver, probe pole.
Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
