Itinerary:

Times are flexible based on the needs of participants.  Meet at the parking lot, crag, and finish before sunset.

Required Items to Bring:

The trip coordinator has 1 rope.  Please let me know if you have a rope that you are willing to bring so I can coordinate renting from the ACC if we are short.

Helmets.  Almost all areas in the Rockies are prone to rock fall due to freeze thaw damage done to limestone walls.  Grassi is especially prone to rock fall from goat activity.

Quick draws: I have enough for 2 groups, but that depends on the route.  Please bring quick draws if you own them.

Climbing shoes and chalk

Recommended Items to Bring:

Whatever you need for a day outside.  A puffy or sweater is recommended for comfortable belaying.  Sunscreen, water, snacks, etc.

How to Get There:

Note, this is the upper parking lot for Grassi Lakes, not the parking lot for the Grassi Lakes trail hike.

Notes:

A Kananaskis pass if required to park at the meeting spot.  https://conservationpass.alberta.ca/kcp

If you are bringing a dog, please consider other climbers and hikers who are enjoying the beauty and serenity of Grassi Lakes.  Dogs must be leashed at all times.  It is polite to leave dogs at home if they bark excessively, are aggressive, or cause excessive disturbances.

Event and climbing times are weather dependent.
Cancellation Policy
If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.

Trip Feedback
If you have any feedback, positive or negative, concerning this trip or any other, we want to hear from you! You can send any feedback you may have to the Section Chair.
