Itinerary: |
We'll aim to be in the back lot of sunshine for 8am, takes about 2 hours to tour up to Healy/Rampart area. We'll ski a couple laps, stop for lunch. Ski another lap or two and call it a day. The aim of the day is to build up confidence in your abilities to possibly ski this rock feature(the smallest of couloirs) on the north side of the Monarch ramparts. There's other(non commiting) lines right beside it to ski. So even if you don't feel up to it. You can still enjoy a nice easy run.
Participants will be screened for their downhill ability(should be comfortable on resort black runs) aswell as fitness(We'll be skiing over 1000m of vert over 20km). The crux of the day is skiing back down from Healy pass to the campground. If tight trees aren't your thing, this might not be for you. This is a splitboard and BITS friendly trip.
