One spot open on a March 30 - April 6 trip to Campbell Icefields Chalet (ACC Rocky Mountain Section trip). Week is self-catered, self-guided -- participants should be at least intermediate backcountry skiers with AST2 (or AST1 as approved by coordinator).
Participants are responsible for breakfasts/lunches, dinners are cooked in teams of two. Lodge has running hot water, electricity, outhouses, sauna and accommodations are in rooms of 2-4. Skiing is in groups of three or more, with objectives depending upon conditions.
Cost is $1086 - full amount must be received to secure a spot. Participants are responsible for transport to/from Golden (carpool may be possible) and must be in Golden by 8am on Saturday morning. Either the ACC online or paper waiver must be signed as well as the lodge/Alpine Helicopters waiver.
If you are interested, please join the wait list and send a brief email to the coordinator (kgsneds@mac.com) with your skiing experience, any related courses (AST, crevasse rescue, first aid etc) and examples of previous backcountry ski trips done in the last few years.
Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
Trip Feedback If you have any feedback, positive or negative, concerning this trip or any other, we want to hear from you! You can send any feedback you may have to the Section Chair.
