Itinerary: |
A one day course aimed at building upon standard steep ice movement in order to deal with non standard ice features and situations. If you feel like you have the basic steep ice movement figured out then this is the next step in the progression. A series of drills and exercises will be worked through to dial in creative variation to your A frame triangle position to deal with skinny pillars, ice roofs and traversing around steep curtains in order to be fluid and not get pumped . Curriculum will also cover managing the hazards of more advanced ice features.
|
Required Items to Bring: |
Harness, belay device, helmet, boots, crampons, ice tools Prerequisite: participants should have completed the steep ice movement course at some point and feel solid getting into an A-frame stance with the swinging and kicking position. This will be reviewed on the course but is not the focus.
