We will leave the hostel and drive about 40 minutes, to the base of the climb. ice usually starts at the road. climb up numerous easy ice steps up to the final steep steps before the bowl. If time allows we will climb the curtain above (Wilson Major). Then downclimb/rap down the route and drive back to the hostel.

The route is threatened by overhead hazards so the trip is dependent on avalanche conditions. Plan B is the Balfour trip with Dom. Final decision will be made Friday night at the hostel. We will carry avalanche gears.

If we haven't climbed together send us a quick email at: and explaining your experience.

Required Items to Bring:

Ice tools, crampons, boots, harness, helmet, belay device, food, water, warm layers, avalanche gears (beacon, shovel, probe)
