Itinerary:

THIS EVENT IS PART OF THE ICE REVIEW WEEKEND.   Participants will remain on the waiting list for this event until they have signed up for the Ice Review weekend.   Also, if you haven't climbed with us before please send an email with a brief summary of your experience and we will get straight back to you, please send to clareormerod@hotmail.co.uk.

The trip is suitable for people who can climb WI3.  We will set up top ropes, practice technique.

Required Items to Bring:

Technical axes, winter boots with well fitting crampons, helmet, harness, belay device, personal anchor, head lamp, winter clothing, hat and gloves suitable for the expected weather, food and drink.  *It is recommended to use crampons that attach to boots via bails on the front and back and please fit crampons to boots prior to coming out.*   If you don't have axes and crampons, we may be able to lend them to you.

Recommended Items to Bring:

More gloves, even more gloves.  Did I mention gloves? Camp chair and an après climb beer, or other drink of choice.  A sense of fun and adventure.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:

We will leave from the Mosquito Creek Hostel as part of the Ice Review. Owen Canyon is a very short walk from the road with some cool icefalls down into the Canyon.  This is a rap or lower down and climb out, so to avoid drama you should be able to climb WI3 on a top rope.

Notes:

If you don't want a persistent Husky bothering you for pets, this might not be the trip for you!
