This is a 5-day unforgettable week of Intermediate Alpine Leadership and skill development in the David Thompson Corridor and beyond.

Taught by ACMG Alpine Guide Tim Taylor at Girth Hitch Guiding.

Alpine Leadership Weeklong Workshop - Girth Hitch Guiding

Refine your current skills and knowledge before the climbing season begins.  This course will require you to make decisions and climb in a dynamic alpine environment. You should leave this course feeling empowered to confidently begin alpine climbing independently. Let's have fun in a positive, supportive environment with other fellow climbers.

Expect 2-3 days of skill refining in each discipline.

- Rock rescue

- Glacier travel and crevasse rescue

- Trad Climbing skills and systems

Expect 2-3 days of Alpine Objectives in which you will share leads (if you feel comfortable).

Please note:  These 5 days will be intensive and all participants should be at an intermediate level to get the most out of this week.

  • Please arrive with lunch, water, and a full tank of gas.
  • Accommodations: TBA (most likely we will be camping)
