THIS EVENT IS PART OF THE ICE REVIEW WEEKEND. Participants will remain on the waiting list for this event until they have signed up for the Ice Review weekend. Also, if you haven't climbed with us before please send an email with a brief summary of your experience and we will get straight back to you, please send to clareormerod@hotmail.co.uk.
Wet Dream is actually 3 climbs separated by 100-200 horizontal meters and offers single pitch WI3 cragging where we are unlikely to see anyone else.
The trip is suitable for everyone from beginners to WI3 leaders. We will set up top ropes, practice technique, this can include mock leads, or leads for those who are confident, v-threads, anchor building, etc. It will be a relaxed fun day. The only prerequisite is being able to confidently and competently belay.
After a fun day of climbing we'll head back to the hostel and enjoy the communal dinner and drinks and share stories of our adventures with the other Ice Review participants.
Required Items to Bring:
Technical axes, winter boots with well fitting crampons, helmet, harness, belay device, personal anchor, head lamp, winter clothing, hat and gloves suitable for the expected weather, food and drink. *It is recommended to use crampons that attach to boots via bails on the front and back and please fit crampons to boots prior to coming out.* If you don't have axes and crampons, we may be able to lend them to you.
Recommended Items to Bring:
If you have ice screws and draws and want to lead / mock lead bring those. More gloves, even more gloves. Did I mention gloves? Camp chair and an après climb beer, or other drink of choice. A sense of fun and adventure.
How to Get There:
Event Directions:
We will leave from the Mosquito Creek Hostel as part of the Ice Review. Wet Dream is a bit obscure and hard to find, but I have GPS tracks and details will be given before the event.
Notes:
If you don't want a persistent Husky bothering you for pets, this might not be the trip for you!
