Meet at PetroCanada along Hwy 1 at Cochrane turnoff at 630am. Hike to base of south ridge via the Edith Pass trail and climb low 5th class terrain to summit. Descend the scramble route. Expect 8 to 10 hours return to the road. This route is ideal for the experienced scrambler who wants to venture onto some lower 5th class alpine rock terrain and simple rope work.

Note the 1A is closed to vehicles, so we either park on the side of the highway or ride mountain bikes along paved pathway from Banff for some extra exercise. No decision made on this yet.

helmet, harness, belay device, personal sling and locking biner, leather mountaineering boots or 3/4 shank hiking boots. trip leader will communicate with group on Saturday to finalize logistics and gear.
