The Climb: Cathedral Mountain is an easy and pleasant alpine ascent with some spectacular views in Yoho National Park - suitable for novice alpinists with some glacier travel experience.

Fitness/Skill Expectations: You must be prepared for a long day in the mountains and familiar with glacier travel, including the use of crampons and ice axe as well as crevasse rescue.
Participants must be comfortable with the use of crampons on exposed ice slope.
You should be prepared to ascend and descend about 1,700 m of elevation gain over 20km.
Logistics: The plan is to drive from Calgary on Sunday morning, climb Cathedral Mountain in the day, drive back home in the evening.
Screening: Event attendees will be screened to ensure they have the necessary skills and experience to complete this climb. Sign-up is not first come first served, and attendees will be selected at the discretion of the trip leader.

Weather: The forecast for Sunday looks currently good but unstable. It's supposed to rain a lot on Wednesday and Thursday. We will keep an eye on the forcast and if it deteriorates too much we might consider a shorter and easier day.
Required Items to Bring:
Helmet, harness, rappel/belay device, a few locking biners, double length sling, glacier travel kit, boots, crampons, ice axe, warm clothes, food, waterwater, anything else you might need.

Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.

membership renews prior to the activity taking place, you will be required to agree to a new Waiver upon renewal, this new Waiver will apply to your participation in this activity. By proceeding with the booking, you agree to the foregoing waiver terms. Bookings
