Itinerary: |
This is a week long trip from Saturday Feb 24 to Saturday March 2, 2024. Assuming that both Saturdays will be travel days for most people, there will be 6 full days of skiing in between. Sunday Feb 25, will be a "get acquainted" ski tour somewhere in the Kaslo area. Early on Monday Feb 26 we head-up 16 kms into Empire Cabin for 4 nights (5 days) and depart Empire after skiing on Friday March 1st. Access in and out is by snowcat, the price of which is included with the cabin at $310 per person, which must be paid upon acceptance. Participants are responsible for their accommodations in Kaslo the first 2 nights (Saturday and Sunday Feb 24 and 25) and the last night (Friday March 1). There are options for accommodations.

How to Get There: |
Event Directions: |
|
The Empire Cabin sits near tree line in the Blue Ridge Range of the Columbia Mountains near Kaslo. A comfy, desirable and inexpensive gem (woodstove, propane, solar power) that sleeps 8 but the group will be limited to 6. Fantastic powder country and an abundance of terrain choices.

Participants should be competent skiers in good physical condition, so they don't hold-up the group. It is not necessary to have a bunch of backcountry skiing experience, however.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance: Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!
Payment of $310 is required when you are accepted for the trip.
*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
