This
mentorship event is part of the AMP (Alpine Mentorship Program) organized by
the ACC Calgary section jointly with ACMG Guide Brent Peters and PeakStratagem.
Either Brent or one of the PeakStratagem guides will be teaching this event. No one plans
to have an accident while out climbing but do you know what to do in the
event of one? Imagine, you are on pitch three of a multipitch route and the
leader take a fall with more than half the rope out. They are unresponsive! Do
you know what to do? Could you deal with the technical aspects of a complex
rescue in this scenario? This Alpine Mentorship Event is for individuals with
prior rock climbing experience that want to learn the fundamentals of Rock
Rescue. The event will be designed for multi-pitch rock and alpine climbers and
will cover rope ascension using 2 prusiks or 1 prusik with a progress capture;
counter balance rope ascension; releasable load transfers; counterbalance
rappels; and tandem rappels. This is a full rope rescue tool box. Cost: $175
for the one day course. The process
to sign up is as follows: Make your payment by using the PayPal button

Cancellation/Partial Attendance: Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!
Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
