Itinerary: |
Ski tour of Mt Field or alternate peak. Medium pace day with 20 - 25km and 1400m of elevation gain. Expect a long day (10+ hrs). 6km flat road in AM, 6km flat back out in the PM.... That's 4 hours of x-country + 5 hours return of driving before we start the fun skiing. You should be capable of skiing a big day (very likely have skied 1400m+ recently this season), and can ski diamond or double diamond terrain, including in a cloud in the alpine.
Bring some sun screen in case the sun is out, and skin wax, lots of water.
Alternate destination only if local snowfall amounts within 48hrs are better somewhere else. Maybe Chickadee/Boom valley.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance: Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!
Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
