Itinerary:

There will be a virtual (phone or video) pre-trip meeting on Friday at 7:30 PM that everyone must be available for.

Carpool to / meet at the Rockbound Lake trailhead at 8:00 AM. Head up the Rockbound Lake trail, veer off into the trees heading towards Helena Ridge, head up to the top and hope for views and decent snow. Coverage my be thin up high, snow might be faceted in the trees, trail might be icy - sounds like fun?! Approximately 15 KM round trip, 1200m elevation gain. Mix of summer trail, trees and alpine.

Required Items to Bring:

- Knowledge from an AST 1 course

- 3-antenna transceiver

- Probe and shovel

- Helmet

- Headlamp

- Airbag pack

The trip may not be completely filled and it won't necessarily be 'first come, first served' from the wait list

2. What would allow you to successfully complete the trip (e.g. previous trips with similar distance & elevation, downhill ability, current energy/fitness level)

The carpool location can be flexible based on where people are coming from and preferences.

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
