Itinerary:

This is an easygoing Saturday ski/splitboard day as part of the Powder review.  It is BITS participant friendly.  The pace will be relaxed and we will aim for 600 - 900m of elevation over the day depending on the objective and group pace.  Our objectives will be to get out, enjoy the day, and try to find some sweet powder.  The specific location will depend on conditions, AVY safety, and area closures on the day.

This is a BITS friendly trip, but advanced riding skills are still required.  Most of the area has at least some tree skiing, sometimes tight, luge track riding, and terrain assessment.  Tree riding skills are a must.  If you are comfortable on black diamond runs in all conditions and hitting the glades are the resort you should be okay.  If you aren't sure, fire me an email and we can discuss.

All participants must have AST1 and all the appropriate gear.

This trip is ski and splitboard friendly and no special mountaineering gear or skills are needed.

This trip is part of the Powder Review.  Participants must be registered for the review before they will be approved for the trip.

If we haven't ridden together in the past please send me an email with some info on your background in backcountry riding.

Required Items to Bring:

Beacon, shovel, probe, riding gear.

Cancellation Policy
If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
