Itinerary:

New to dry-tooling, ice, and mixed climbing? Wanting to push your climbing to the next level this Fall and Winter? Looking to gain the skills and confidence to tackle bigger objectives independently? This camp, lead by myself and Sheldon Young, will help set you up for the season ahead!

This first event will be a get together session where we will cover the basics. Gear, skills, techniques, training, and whatever questions you have. We will then have at least four climbing days that will be posted as separate events. Two dry-tooling days at the Playground plus two ice climbing days. We may add a fifth day prior to Christmas. These days will focus on climbing techniques and systems to help you become independent and able to tackle your own objectives!

If you are interested please email you experience and what you would like to get out of the camp to Kyle (kylegpotts@gmail.com). Preference will be given to individuals able to commit to all 5 events. Once accepted you will be added to the other events.

Climbing Schedule:

  •    Mid October: Dry-tooling at the Playground
  •    Late October: Dry-tooling at the Playground
  •    Mid November: Early season ice (location TBD)
  •    Early December: Steep ice and mixed (Location TBD)
Required Items to Bring:

Whatever you have questions about and stoke!

A detailed gear list will be provided for climbing days.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
