Itinerary:

Cragging @ Baldy Crag - A Rock Review Event

Baldy Crag has a selection of short sport routes from 5.6 to 5.11a, so it's good for different levels! However, you must know how to belay to attend this event. If you don't yet lead climb, that's OK as we'll have people set up top ropes, especially me if you have tasty home-baked treats to offer :-).

No climbing instruction will be given.

You must register at the bottom of this page to attend this event. You must also be registered for the Rock Review.

Please also note when you register for this event if you are bringing a rope/draws/sport anchor, so I can ensure we have enough. Where do you note this? In the space provided on the screen after you enter your name/password on the bottom of this page and press Continue.

Required Items to Bring:
  • harness, helmet, belay device, rock shoes
  • rope/draws/sport anchor if you have them
  • lunch, water, rain clothes

Recommended Items to Bring:
  • sunscreen, chalk, bug spray

How to Get There:
Event Directions:

Park in the ditch on the east side of Highway #40 as for the Mt Baldy hike trailhead (~12km from the #1 turn off). Head up the drainage until it forks into two separate drainages. The one on the right leads towards large, low angle slabs and you'll hit a fairly steep slope. To the left you'll see the start of some chossy cliffs. Head left. The cliffs wrap around and become (moderately) better.

Carpool Departure Time:   10:00 AM
Carpool Location:   Rafter's 6 Ranch parking lot
Carpool Directions:

See Rock Review event page for details.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
