Itinerary:

This mentorship event is part of the AMP (Alpine Mentorship) program organized by the ACC Calgary Alpine Chair jointly with ACMG Guide Brent Peters and PeakStratagem.

Ski Gordon and Olive in a day, from the car!  This trip is about 25 km return and 1400m elevation gain.  This is a great trip for those with sufficient fitness, even if you aren't the worlds best downhiller (should be able to "manage" black diamonds).  Maybe you are new to the Wapta, maybe you are new to ski mountaineering, maybe you just want to stretch your legs on a great spring tour.

You should have AST 1. A sufficiently high level of fitness is needed - the trip is 1517m elevation gain. You should be able to "manage" diamond level terrain at the ski hill in difficult conditions: wind effected snow, powder, spring snow (hard or heavy & wet), etc.  You don't have to look pretty, but you do need to be able to ski up and down.  Glacier travel will be required.

AMP is a mentoring event.  In an ideal world you would run and lead this trip (Brent is there to coach you and as back-up).  Of course, you are still welcome to attend if you feel leading the trip is beyond your ability.

Please sign up, download this form (LINK), fill it out and send it to Tyler and Clare at tylerhallman@hotmail.com and clareormerod@hotmail.co.uk . We will get you on the trip and let you know you are approved to pay.
