Cost: $162.50 (this includes tax) for one day
of instruction.
Course Content: This course is aimed at scramblers, rock climbers and mountaineers who want to learn about short-roping and short-pitching techniques to deal with 3rd-, 4th- and easy-5th-class terrain. Topics will include rope management, assessing terrain features, various body belays, terrain belays, natural anchors and application of techniques on changing rock terrain.
Prerequisites: Participants should have some experience scrambling and/or mountaineering and be able to move over 3rd-, 4th- and easy-5th-class terrain with confidence.

Equipment: helmet, harness, approach shoes (or
light mountain
boots), 30L day pack, belay gloves, belay
device, 120cm sewn
sling,
250cm sewn sling, three extra locking
carabiners (one of which
HMS/Munter), a couple non-locking carabiners,
cordelette.

Cancellation Policy as of March 2017 :
If a participant is unable to attend a course
or paid trip, there will be
no refund unless the participant finds a
suitable replacement that is
acceptable to the trip coordinator. It will
then be the participant's
responsibility to recover funds from the
replacement. If the
coordinator cancels a trip, participants get a
refund (less any non-
recoverable costs).
Cancellation Policy

Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
