Itinerary:
Costs: $162.50 per person (1:6 ratio) which includes fees and GST Course Content: A one-day course to provide a basic understanding of improvised rope rescue techniques so you can deal with simple cliff-side emergencies. Techniques to be covered include escaping the belay, emergency lowers, tandem rappels, raising systems and releasing an auto device. Course content can be adapted to the experience level of the group. Prerequisite: Some climbing experience is necessary whether it be indoor or outdoor, lead or top-rope. Participants must be able to offer a top-rope belay. Knowledge of standard knots and hitches is recommended (clove hitch, prusik hitch, munter hitch, figure-8) but not necessary.
Required Items to Bring:
Equipment: harness, helmet, belay gloves, belay device with locking carabiner, 6 locking carabiners (3 HMS/Munter), 4-6 non- locking carabiners, one 5m x 7mm cordelette, 13.5” Hollowblock (or 1.5m x 7mm prusik), two 120cm sewn sling, one 60cm sewn sling

Warm clothes (expect to stand around and listen/learn) and then participate.

Cancellation Policy as of March 2017 : If a participant is unable to attend a course or paid trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels a trip, participants get a refund (less any non- recoverable costs).

The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
