Itinerary:

Meet in NW Calgary at 6:30 to sign waivers. We'll pick a destination closer to Saturday based on snow conditions and weather. We may go out to the Lake Louise or 93N areas.

You should be capable of skiing black diamond terrain comfortably, and doing 1200m to 1500m vertical days at a moderate pace.  If we haven’t skied together recently, please send an email detailing your downhill ability, fitness level, avalanche safety training, and backcountry skiing experience to peruandesguide@gmail.com and acmbattistel@gmail.com. You won't be added to the trip without sending this.

Required Items to Bring:

Mandatory: Avalanche Transceiver (digital 2+ antennae), avalanche snow shovel, probe, backcountry ski gear, and knowledge of how to use them (AST1 minimum, AST 2 preferred), helmet, food and drink, warm clothing, headlamp.

Depending on the destination ski crampons and ice axe may be required.

Recommended Items to Bring:

Avaluator, Sunglasses/ski goggles, sunscreen, camera, communication devices (radio, PLB, SPOT, InReach, etc.), maps, compass, tarp, first aid kit, repair kit, matches, multi-tool, ski straps, GAIA or other offline topo map gps for your phone, any required personal items.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

Cancellation Policy
If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.

Trip Feedback
If you have any feedback, positive or negative, concerning this trip or any other, we want to hear from you! You can send any feedback you may have to the Section Chair.
