We would like to target a summit, we have plan for a more exploratory day (off the beaten path, expect to break trail!). The final destination will depend on weather, avalanche conditions, and participants experience.
As a representative example, past outings include Burstall Pass Peak, Healy Pass Peak, Little Temple, Bow Peak, Purple Pk and Lipalian Mtn, Mt Haffner, Mt Field, Panorama Ridge, Smutwood.
Destination will be announced closer to event date.
Required Items to Bring:
Mandatory: Transceiver (digital 2+ antennae), snow shovel,
probe, backcountry ski gear, and knowledge of how to use them (AST1 minimum)
Recommended Items to Bring:
Food/drink, extra clothing, any required
personal items, sunglasses/ski goggles and headlamp, sunscreen, camera, FRS radio.
If we are going to a summit, an
ice axe, helmet, and boot crampons might be
Ski crampons may be an asset and have come in handy across the season.

Carpool Departure Time:
Due to COVID-19, participants should expect to
drive on their
own after a gear check and signing of waivers at
Minimum AST1 or equivalent level experience
required. If you intend to bring a splitboard, let us know.

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non- recoverable costs).
The Calgary Section of the Alpine Club of Canada is a not for profit / flow through course and trip provider. We organize courses and trips based on member demand and divide any costs that we incur between event attendees. In other words, we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
