This 🏔❄️ AST2 course is for you if have the following attributes: 

①  You have a strong desire to level up your avalanche risk evaluation, backcountry decision making and risk mitigation skills

②  You are a competent downhill skier/splitboarder and comfortable at a black diamond or double black ability

③  You can tour 600 to 1000m vertical in a day (if you aren't sure please ask the coordinator!)

CLASSROOM NIGHTS
The classroom days will be split into 2, 4-hour Virtual sessions held in the evenings the week prior (February 15, 16, 17)

FIELD DAYS
The field days will be Saturday February 19, Sunday February 20, and Monday February 21 [Family Day]. Participants are encouraged to tour together on Friday February 18th.

You are responsible to bring your regular ski touring gear:

• Skies or Splitboard
• Skins and Poles
• Beacon
• Shovel
• Probe
• Water
• Lunch
• Sun Glasses
• Warm puffy (for standing around)
• 2 pairs of gloves for snow pit work
• A copy of the Avaluator

 If you have any questions on gear please contact your trip coordinator.

📖 We highly recommend that you also purchase and read: "Staying Alive in Avalanche Terrain" by Bruce Tremper. This will help to facilitate a lot of the discussion. 

The exact locations will be determined during the screening process and in collaboration with the participants. 

The total cost is $590 and includes the course fee. This course is being offered AT COST for all participants.
