Itinerary: |
Let's go climbing at Baldy on a weekday when it (might) be less busy! This is open to all levels, although you must be a competent lead belayer. When you sign up, please let me know the following (so that I can plan the group size and details accordingly) -If you plan to do any lead climbing -If you have a rope or draws that you can bring
We will meet at the parking at 9 am and hike in.

|
Required Items to Bring: |
Personal rock climbing gear. Helmets are mandatory
|
|
Recommended Items to Bring: |
Rope, draws, anchor package, equipment for cleaning an anchor (locker and long sling/some type of tether at a minimum)
|
|
How to Get There: |
Event Directions: |
|
Park in the ditch on the east side of Highway #40 as for the Mt Baldy
hike trailhead (~12km from the #1 turn off). Head up the drainage until
it forks into two separate drainages. The one on the right leads towards
large, low angle slabs and you'll hit a fairly steep slope. To the left
you'll see the start of some chossy cliffs. Head left. The cliffs wrap
around and become (moderately) better. Both this page and TheCrag page
had the GPS locations on the low angle slab, causing confusion.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance: Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!
*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
