Itinerary:

Course Content: Cascade Mountain is the spectacular peak that towers over Banff. The scrambling route ascends the west side of the mountain, hidden from view. It is a long day but not technical - the main difficulty is route finding and energy conservation. The summit views and feelings of accomplishment climbing a big mountain close to home are well worth the effort!

Prerequisite:
No previous experience is necessary but reasonable fitness is required. An "Introduction to Scrambling course is being held on August 1.

Required Items to Bring:
Helmet
Hiking boots
Gloves (min 1 pair lightweight)
Appropriate clothing for the weather (lightweight pants are better than shorts)
Rain gear
Sun gear
Food/water
Personal First Aid/blister kit
Headlamp
Hiking pole
Bear spray (optional but preferable)
Backpack to carry everything for the day (clothes, equipment, food, water) - min 30L
