This is a youth and family rock climbing course. Youth between the ages of 10-18 are welcome with a guardian present.
Course Content: This one-day course is designed for parents and their kids who are interested in experiencing the fun and aesthetic sport of rock climbing. This course is for those who want to build on their overall mountain skills and also those who want to learn a new sport that requires team work, precision, technique and the ability to trust yourself and others.
This is the first of 2 courses that will build on each other throughout the summer. The opportunity to go multi-pitch rock climbing together later in the season will also exist.
This introductory course will teach you how to use the equipment, the hazards associated with rock climbing and rock climbing technique.
Take advantage of our outdoor playground! This course is perfect for kids and their parents who want to learn a new mountain activity together in The Canadian Rockies - a destination for rock climbers worldwide.
Prerequisites:
No previous rock climbing experience is necessary. However, previous experience indoor climbing and the ability to Top-Rope belay is beneficial.
