Itinerary: |
Course Content: This course is aimed at novice rock climbers who want to either make the transition from either outdoor top-roping or indoor gym climbing to being a leader on bolted sport routes. The curriculum includes: movement techniques, anchor construction, cleaning/threading the anchor, clipping bolts, lead belaying and leading strategies.
COST $162.50
Prerequisites: Participants should have already done some indoor or outdoor climbing in a top-rope setting and be able to offer a safe top-rope belay.

Equipment: Harness, helmet, belay device with
locking carabiner,
belay gloves,
rock shoes, 120cm sewn sling, two non-locking
carabiners, two
locking
carabiners (optional: chalk bag, quickdraws,
rope, rope bag, stick
clip)

Warm belay jacket,extra pair of gloves,thermos
with hot drinks,lunch, sun screen and camera.

Cancellation Policy as of March 2017 :
If a participant is unable to attend a course
or paid trip, there will be
no refund unless the participant finds a
suitable replacement that is
acceptable to the trip coordinator. It will
then be the participant's
responsibility to recover funds from the
replacement. If the
coordinator cancels a trip, participants get a
refund (less any non-
recoverable costs).

Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
