Itinerary:
Cost: $162.50 (this includes tax) for one day of instruction. Course Content: This course is aimed at scramblers, rock climbers and mountaineers who want to learn about short-roping and short-pitching techniques to deal with 3rd-, 4th- and easy-5th-class terrain. Topics will include rope management, assessing terrain features, various body belays, terrain belays, natural anchors and application of techniques on changing rock terrain. Prerequisites: Participants should have some experience scrambling and/or mountaineering and be able to move over 3rd-, 4th- and easy-5th-class terrain with confidence.
Required Items to Bring:
Equipment: helmet, harness, approach shoes (or light mountain boots), 30L day pack, belay gloves, belay device, 120cm sewn sling, 250cm sewn sling, three extra locking carabiners (one of which HMS/Munter), a couple non-locking carabiners, cordelette.

Recommended Items to Bring:
Warm clothes (expect to stand around and listen/learn) and then participate.

Cancellation Policy as of March 2017 : If a participant is unable to attend a course or paid trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels a trip, participants get a refund (less any non- recoverable costs).

The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
