Itinerary: |
Want to get further off the beaten path and explore less popular winter destinations? Perhaps you want to build up your skills so that you can take others snowshoeing or lead trips with the ACC. This course is intended to build skills and confidence for venturing into more remote, untracked or less well-known areas.
Planning your trip and route precisely beforehand,
Plotting and executing your track up through forests to viewpoints and your day's destination,
Knowing where to find available resources to identify and avoid avalanche terrain
Dealing with snow or weather conditions that could influence route choice or objective.
Gathering all sorts of tips to stay warm and safe on longer or more challenging days out in the winter mountains.
Registration will be first come first-served based on payment for the course. Please make sure to both register for the waitlist and pay using the paypal button below. The cost is $99.5 per participant, including GST. This is a great price for an entire day with a certified and experienced guide!
Once you have paid, please email Julie Morter with confirmation and she will move you on to the event

Cancellation/Partial Attendance: Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!
Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
