Itinerary:
Costs: $136.25 per person (1:6 ratio) which includes GST Course Content: A one-day course to provide a basic understanding of improvised rock rescue techniques so you can deal with simple cliff-side emergencies. Techniques to be covered include escaping the belay, emergency lowers, tandem rappels, a simple 3:1 raising system and releasing an auto device. Course content can be adapted to the experience level of the group. Prerequisites: Some climbing experience is necessary whether it's indoor, outdoor, lead or top-rope. Participants must be able to offer a safe top-rope belay. Knowledge of standard knots and hitches is also recommended (clove hitch, prussic hitch, munter hitch, fisherman’s, figure- 8) but not necessary.
Required Items to Bring:
Harness, helmet, belay device (auto-blocking like ATC-Guide or Reverso is recommended), 4-5 locking carabiners (at least one being a Munter shape), 4 non-locking carabiners, 1 double-length shoulder sling, 2 7mmx5m Prussic cords, 1 7mmx1.5m prussic cord and a lunch/drink

Recommended Items to Bring:
Warm clothes (expect to stand around and listen/learn) and then participate.

Event Directions:   Drive west on Hwy 1, take the Exshaw turn off, head north until you intersect Hwy 1A and then take a right (head northeast) for about 1 km and look for the Yamnuska parking lot sign. Turn left onto a small gravel road which leads you to the parking lot.

It is a first paid - first on the course registration. The course fee is $136.25 which includes taxes. Please complete the following as soon as possible and we will move you to the attending list. We offer the option highlighted below at the "Buy Now" button.
You do not need a PayPal account and can pay by credit card.
Once you have made your payment, please take a screen shot and send to the Trip Coordinator confirming your payment.

Once this is confirmed the co-ordinator will move you to the attending list.

Cancellation Policy as of March 2017 : If a participant is unable to attend a course or paid trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels a trip, participants get a refund (less any non- recoverable costs).

If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
