Itinerary:

A ski tour to the Wolverine Ridge area NE of the Louise Ski Resort. Hopefully conditions will permit a lap or two in the area. Expect a moderate pace and mellow skiing.  My goal is to have a nice day in the mountains.

The tour starts at the Fish Creek trail head and heads up the Lake Louise ski out for about 3.5km to the Temple Lodge. We'll ski past the lodge about a 1 km before turning right and heading up the Wolverine valley. After another 1 km or so we'll start looking for a nice slope to ski. I'm not an aggressive skier, so we'll aim for moderate terrain. Expect 12-15 km return, with about 700m of ascent (more if we do some laps).

This is a BITS friendly trip. Priority will be given to the pariticpants in BITS Group E.

Covid-19 protocols prevent us from car pooling, so we will meet at the trail head.

Required Items to Bring:
Ski touring gear: Skis, skins, beacon, shovel, probe, extra clothes, lunch, water, etc. Mask and hand sanitizer.

Recommended Items to Bring:
Helmet.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:   Take Hwy. 1 to Lake Louise. Turn right at the first intersection and head up Bow Valley Parkway/Whitehorn Road towards the Lake Louise Ski hill. Pass the Hwy 1A (Bow Valley Parkway) turn off and take the first right about 1km past it. Drive up the grave road about 1km to the small parking lots at the end. (If you hit the Louise ski hill parking lots, you've gone to far. )

Notes:
If you haven't skied with me before (and aren't part of BITS Group E), please send me an email describing your ski ability, backcountry ski experience, fitness level, and what ski touring and avalanche courses you've taken. Please try to quantify your answers (e.g. I run 25km a week, ski blacks at the resort, etc.)
At a minimum, you must have taken AST-1.
