Itinerary:

This is the first of 3 leadership training events for aspiring and existing leaders in the Women's Mountain Mentorship Group. The course will be taught by Erica Roles and will be tailored to the experience of the participants once determined. The cost to participants will be $25. This will include an entire day of instruction, as well as overnight lodging and an evening meal (pending Covid conditions). Participants will be responsible for leading/co-leading at least 3 trips (in any discipline - does not need to be the area of training - including non-technical trips) within 1 year of the training event.

This training series is subsidized by a grant from Canadian Women & Sport (WISE). WISE recognizes the way that engagement in sport training translates into confidence and leadership abilities that carry back into our daily lives, and supports remaining "active for life". The series will currently span across disciplines of ice climbing, skiing and rock climbing, with potential for expansion in the future.

The WISE Mission: "Girls and women are underrepresented and underserved in Canadian sport as athletes, leaders, and decision-makers. Our challenge? To harness the power of sport so that girls and women everywhere can benefit, and to build a stronger, more equitable sport system for all Canadians."

Please note, the Women's Mountain Mentorship Group is not gender exclusive, but does promote learning and mentorship environments in which female-identified people are not in the minority.

Required Items to Bring:
Basic personal climbing equipment - helmet, harness, boots, crampons, ice tools, personal anchor, belay device, layers, belay puffy (borrowing or renting equipment will be possible)
