We have delayed this a week to leave time for people to get their ski stuff sorted and more snow to fall! Come out and practice your avy skills! Skills practice will be the focus of the day, but we ask that participants be on skis or splitboards and comfortable with easy to easy-moderate terrain. We'll definitely do beacon practice, but are open to suggestions if people have other skills in mind. And if people are still keen, go a little further to look at more terrain and maybe even a tiny turn or two :o) This is a BITS friendly session with the chance to ask questions of the BITS coordinator.
Required Items to Bring:
Avy gear (beacon, probe, shovel), skis/splitboard, skins, other ski gear. We will likely be standing around, so have warm layers in case it's cold, and something to eat/drink to keep you fueled. If you have it, something to take notes.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
