COVID 19; Please note there are new protocols and guidelines that we must all adhere to while taking part in club events and courses. Please ensure you have read and understood the following documents:
More snow is in the forecast! Lets explore Pocaterra Ridge in the Highland Pass area of Kananaskis Country.
2200 m elevation at the parking lot ... it will be good up there!
Lets check it out before the annual Nov 30 highway closure for the winter.
This will be EASY, FRIENDLY PACED ascent (likely only about 2 km/h). Energetic Lappers, however, should be able to ski extra laps as desired, if party member numbers and terrain allow, which it likely will; we can conscientiously plan and coordinate splitting into two groups, Slackers and Lappers. Slackers, like me, can find a safe spot for a long lunch and watch the lappers go! : -)
It is about 4 km in with 500 v-m elevation gain, plus any laps we may want to do.
Required Items to Bring:
The usual Avy safety gear (shovel, probe & 3-antennae beacon, etc), skis or split boards, skins, warm clothes, sunscreen, sunshades, water and lunch, etc
Recommended Items to Bring:
Your big smile.

AST-1 is a preferred minimum for participant safety training.
Please bring your signed waiver (copies available at the "New Waiver/Declaration of Health" link shown above in green ink); I will have extra blank copies if needed.
Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
Trip Feedback If you have any feedback, positive or negative, concerning this trip or any other, we want to hear from you! You can send any feedback you may have to the Section Chair.
Registration for this event closed on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 04:00 PM.
